What does C.A.S.P.E.R. mean? Fundraising, Emergency Readiness, Community Awareness?

More than just a Ghosts’ Name.

Yes, there is Casper the Friendly Ghost.  And like Lyle Birkey, Director of Communications, National Council for Science and the Environment says . . . . . “C.A.S.P.E.R. can literally be a lifesaver for whole communities – especially in the rural environments. I love the subtle acronym too – it’s the friendly ghost that you don’t know is there until you absolutely need it, and then it guides you to safety and resources in the most dire of situations.”  So a similarity can be made between Casper the Ghost and our 911 C.A.S.P.E.R. System.  But our 911 C.A.S.P.E.R. Systems are so much more than the same name as a Ghost.

C.A.S.P.E.R. ~ Community Awareness and Stimulus Plan for Emergency Readiness. 

So what does C.A.S.P.E.R. really mean?  Why did we go through the time to drill down what our System does and come up with such a claim as C.A.S.P.E.R.?

Let’s take it one step at a time.  Community Awareness.  How does that fit in with our System?  Well to start with it during good times, C.A.S.P.E.R. is your silent voice on the road giving you the proven, more efficient and effective way to provide your own private Organizations’ messages to go out to your Community and passersby for your:

  • Organization Updates
  • Community Announcements
  • Events so you receive higher attendance
  • Or whatever you want

Next – Stimulus Plan.  What is that all about?  Well, unless you live under a rock, many of the Non-Profit Organizations that give so much to our Communities are struggling. and their fundraising efforts have become more difficult.  Think for a minute if any of these Non-Profit Organizations had to close.  How would it affect your Community?  How would it affect you and your loved ones?  So you might be saying – well I don’t use them.  Well that is what we thought until our home burnt down to the ground.  And then, as if that wasn’t enough, we needed their services again, when our new home’s woods caught on fire right out our front door.  You seen, you never know when you will need the help of these Non-Profit Organizations – but History is clear with its documentation that these Non-Profit Organizations are needed – why do you think they are here in the first place?

The Stimulus Plan we have put together is quite elaborate.  It not only helps the Non-Profit Organization who are the ‘Owners’ of our 911 C.A.S.P.E.R. System, but it also helps the Communities it becomes a part of.  How?  Through our ‘Sponsortizing’ System.

Then of course there is the Emergency Readiness.  The Emergency preparedness that no one really wants to think they will need.  But as my Post last week pointed out – it is WHEN Disaster Strikes, not IF Disaster Strikes.   And who says this – FEMA’s IPAWS – and I think they know a thing or two . . . .  So what benefit is that for your Community?  Well who doesn’t want to know what is going on?  Who doesn’t want to know where to go for help?  And C.A.S.P.E.R. helps Before, During and After any Emergency Situation that your 911 Dispatchers, or other Authorized Alerting Personal, feel as though you need to be aware of.  What a comfort!  To me, as I drive by our Fire Department and see that they have the usual messages on their C.A.S.P.E.R. System, I feel a sense of relief, especially since I don’t listen to the radio as I drive.  I know I am not missing something that could be a danger to my family or me.

So you see, the name we came up with – C.A.S.P.E.R. – is perfect!
