C.A.S.P.E.R. helps all year long, not just during Halloween!
It’s that scary time of year . . . . when all of the Ghosts and Goblins come out Trick or Treating. OK, really it’s a lot of fun ~ especially for parents of younger children. It only seems like last year that our youngest got dressed up . . . wait it was just last year. Actually, even our older children got dressed up too. Hum . . . . Well, I guess you can’t keep all of that fun to just the little guys.
So, I am sure everyone by now has noticed that the acronym for our System is called 911 C.A.S.P.E.R. Systems. However, I want to make a full disclosure right now that we are not affiliated with Casper the Ghost at all. The reason we are using the acronym of C.A.S.P.E.R. is because it shortens the name of our System. Otherwise we would be constantly saying our ‘Community Awareness and Stimulus Plan for Emergency Readiness’ System. Phew . . . . that’s a lot to keep saying. So thank goodness all we have to say is our 911 C.A.S.P.E.R. System.
However, when Lyle Birkey, Director of Communications, National Council for Science and the Environment said “C.A.S.P.E.R. can literally be a lifesaver for whole communities – especially in the rural environments. I love the subtle acronym too – it’s the friendly ghost that you don’t know is there until you absolutely need it, and then it guides you to safety and resources in the most dire of situations.”
Naturally, I just couldn’t let Halloween pass by without bringing attention to what Lyle Birkey said.
Honestly, I think I could have paid a million dollars to the best of all the Ad Agencies in the World and they probably couldn’t have come up with anything remotely as good as Lyle came up with. So thank you again Lyle for letting us use what you have said. The coolest part of this is that it is so amazingly accurate.
That IS what our 911 C.A.S.P.E.R. System is all about. It is ‘hidden in plain sight’ so to speak. The LED Display is doing just what it does best, putting out information to the Community. In your case though, during a regular day it is keeping your Community aware of Burn Bans, local events that are going on, blood drives, food bank information and a bunch of other information that is helpful to your Community and visitors. Then of course, it is ‘sprinkled’ with ‘Support Our Sponsor’ acknowledgements. This obviously helps Communities stay strong by encouraging Community Members to patronize the Businesses who Support the Non-Profit Organization(s). After all, the Businesses in your Community typically pay the highest taxes, which again contribute to supporting your Community in a vast array of other areas. So that is why we encourage and support the ‘Buy Local’ aspect of C.A.S.P.E.R., plus now they are helping keep your Non-Profit Organization running smoothly by providing the much needed donations to your organization.
Yet! If, or should I say, when (because you know life is just like that) the situation arises that the need to provide geographically targeted, instantaneous Alerts and Warning out to your Community . . . . . either through FEMA’s IPAWS or our 911 C.A.S.P.E.R. Systems Alert Button . . . . . there is C.A.S.P.E.R. ready to fly into action to give that friendly guiding hand to keep you and your loved ones safe.
And guess what – he is (usually) wireless too!
